Greener Acres minutes from Roan Mountain State Park and the Appalachian Trail. Use Greener Acres campsite as your jumping-off point for fun nearby activities or relax on our 40 acre mountainside property and watch for meteor showers in the clear night sky! Within 5 minutes, you can be at Roan Mountain State Park or drive 5-10 minutes to hike the Appalachian Trail. Head up to Carvers Gap just below Roan Mountain High Knob where you can hop out and enjoy a short walk to a scenic view of both the TN and NC mountains or visit the famous Rhododendron Gardens in season. Campsite also boasts energizing, private hike up to Heaton Ridge. Want to spend the day kayaking or canoeing? Head to Wilbur Lake, about a 30 minute drive away from our campsite. Exploring Laura Falls is only a 20 minute drive away. Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain in N.C. are about 30-45 minutes away. The Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood are about a 2 hour drive through amazing mountain views. The annual Rhododendron Festival takes place minutes away. Supplies can be found at the state park camp store or in town at Redi-Mart or Dollar General. Water and showers are down by barn. A Gator is available for the duration of your stay. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. A Coleman stove with a small propane tank, pots, a frying pan and utensils is also included in the site. Another small propane tank is provided for the radiator in the tent.

Creekside tent site near apiary

Camp here, you won’t regret it

I’d give this place 10000 stars if I could. One of my favorite tent camping stays I’ve ever had. It’s tucked away next to a nice little creek, which makes sleeping so nice with the sound next to you. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was hot (which is amazing when camping). Only a 10-15 minute drive to Carvers gap, which is one of the prettiest hikes I’ve ever done. Plentiful firewood, picnic table, with more than enough room to spread out and play. The bees kept to themselves and didn’t bother us at all. Brian was super helpful, I did not have enough tent stakes and he helped us out with that. I definitely plan on camping here again next time we are up this way!

Creekside was great

Great spot!! We felt very welcome by Brian. The sound of the creek kept us sleeping awesome! Bathroom was very clean and accessible. Just as advertised. Will definitely return.

This land was absolutely beautiful! It's in the most charming, quiet valley, and the campsite was lovely. The bathroom was great, and everything was exactly as described. Couldn't have enjoyed it more!

Hilltop Glamping Mountain Views

Would immediately come back!

What an AMAZING experience! Brian and Sarah were awesome hosts and the glamping tent and site they have created on their land is simply breathtaking. The site is accessible via a off road vehicle that is provided to you free of charge and you drive up to your site that sits on a beautiful mountain/hilltop amongst the mountains. The site feels very private and you can have your dog run happily off leash. The site has a fantastic view of the mountains with gorgeous sunset and daytime views. Seeing the smoke appear on the mountains was incredible! Furthermore, you can really see the thought Brian and Sarah put into the site. Every thing you can think of needing for a perfect outdoor, comfortable camping experience is provided to you. There's a propane heater that heats the tent nicely, a large battery bank, covered outdoor propane grill and eating area, and two fire pits with covered wood and firestarter all there. The site is cozy and comfortable. There's a nice and very clean composting outhouse near the site, and down the hill there's a very nice indoor toilet and shower with hot water attached to the barn. During our time, it rained super hard and did not struggle at all. We managed to cook our meals in the outdoor kitchen and otherwise enjoyed the rain in our tent! The communication was also great. This is a site we would absolutely come back to!

Super nice camp site, out of view of the main house so it feels fairly private. There is a grocery store within 15 minutes for supplies. Bathroom/shower are awesome.
